Ingram Micro Adds More Value And Reduces Time-To-Market For Cisco UCS B-Series And C-Series Reseller Partners In The U.S.

Advanced Technology Distributor Now Authorized to Build Custom Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) B-Series Servers and C-Series Servers

SANTA ANA, Calif. — Building on its portfolio of advanced integration services, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced it is now authorized as a Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) B-Series and C-Series Build-to-Order (BTO) distribution partner in the U.S.

The new designation allows Ingram Micro to stock, build, test and ship Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers to specification for authorized Cisco reseller partners in the U.S.  Available now, the advanced integration services are being conducted at Ingram Micro’s Millington Advanced Logistics Center and supported by Ingram Micro’s Advanced Technology Division and dedicated Cisco Business Unit in the U.S.

“Ingram Micro is a growth catalyst for our Cisco business and a high-value business partner that understands what we need to succeed and goes above and beyond to deliver it,” says Jesper Christensen, senior operations analyst, Varrow, an Ingram Micro / Cisco channel partner in the U.S. “Having the option to obtain build-to-order Cisco B-Series and C-Series servers direct from Ingram Micro will save us a tremendous amount of time and energy, and help speed delivery and final deployment to our customers.”

Another value-add that Ingram Micro offers to Cisco resellers is access to the distributor’s bi-coastal Solution Centers and East Coast Experience Center, a demonstration facility dedicated to advanced Cisco architectures such as Cisco data centers and UCS. Equipped with on-premise and remote demonstration units, Cisco resellers can showcase the features and benefits of select Cisco technologies and solutions including the UCS B-Series and C-Series servers to prospects, customers and associates. Featuring a digitally-enhanced boardroom, working data center and Cisco TelePresence units, the Ingram Micro Experience Center is a great resource for hosting technical trainings, high-level sales meetings and customer events.

Additionally, Cisco resellers have access to a wide variety of marketing and support services from Ingram Micro that are proven to help channel partners build a more successful and profitable business.

“Designing and deploying data center solutions can be a time-consuming and resource-intense process for our reseller partners,” said Scott A. Brown, vice president, Worldwide Distribution Sales at Cisco. “By authorizing Ingram Micro as a Cisco UCS BTO distribution partner, we’re enabling our mutual partners to reduce turnaround times and accelerate product delivery to customers, while utilizing distribution to complement their technical support team and further reduce the costs of doing business.”

“We are investing in the success of our Cisco channel partners by expanding our skill set and support services for advanced architectures such as the Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers,” says Keith Bradley, president, Ingram Micro North America. “For nearly 17 years, Ingram Micro has worked to exceed the expectations of Cisco and our mutual partners by going the extra mile to deliver unquestionable business value and operational excellence. We’re committed to partnering smart with the Cisco partner community, and building upon our legacy as a high-value distribution partner.”

Earlier this year, Ingram Micro received several accolades from Cisco for its exemplary efforts as a valued distribution partner to Cisco and its mutual reseller partners worldwide. These honors included the Cisco Global Distributor of the Year award, five regional Distribution Partner of the Year awards and the Cisco Worldwide Distribution Summit award for Services Innovation.
