Is Your IT Solutions Provider Ready For UC?

Unified Communications (UC) has become almost a buzzword over the last few years. Companies are turning to a UC model because it supports important business attributes like speed and efficiency.
SMS and mobile are easy to align because they are both telephony sources, but there is more to UC than telephony. Think data: push notifications, video conferencing, and email. And yes, pretty much no matter what you use, there’s an app for that.
UC is architecture with pieces of technology and integrations that describes the combination of communications and collaboration technologies. And done right, unified collaboration can be a competitive advantage.
The State Of UC
In my experience, a lot of organizations still see these technology and integration pieces. Many business units give up on corporate UC and buy their own, like Slack, creating its own shadow IT. Since many departments use their own services, they end up creating a fragmented communication environment. In other words, it’s the opposite of unified, it’s un-unified, if that were a word, but it’s changing.
