Loftware Spectrum 2.6 Release Redefines On-Demand Label Printing

Application Architect Feature Reduces Cost and Streamlines Labeling, Empowers Users to Create Custom Printing Applications

Loftware, Inc., the global leader in Enterprise Labeling Solutions, recently announced the latest release of Loftware Spectrum, their revolutionary 100% browser based, all-in-one Enterprise Labeling Solution. Spectrum 2.6 includes Application Architect, a powerful new feature that enables users to create and manage complex applications, eliminating the need for customers to build their own user interfaces for on-demand label printing.

Loftware Spectrum’s Application Architect feature empowers users to simplify the label printing process by making the development and maintenance of on-demand labeling applications dramatically faster and easier. Offering a new level of control for data input, Application Architect enables Spectrum users to design complex, intelligent data entry pages with drag and drop ease and to dynamically make decisions based on input from the user. Application Architect links pages together to create a “wizard” that guides the end user down the appropriate path based on their selections. This removes any guesswork from the print operator and reduces the occurrence of mislabeling.

“Many companies are faced with error-prone manual barcode printing processes and often need to build custom printing applications in an attempt to streamline processes and ensure that users are printing the right labels,” stated Loftware Vice President of Product Management, Josh Roffman. “Custom applications can enable companies to meet the requirements of a single, ad hoc labeling process but they quickly become difficult and costly to maintain especially as labeling requirements change frequently,” he added.

The release of Spectrum 2.6 builds more intelligence into the print process to substantially enhance the user experience and remove the need to build custom applications outside of the Enterprise Labeling environment. Application Architect empowers end users to make the necessary decisions to print exactly what they want, when they want it, without deviating from a standard process. Coupled with Spectrum’s Business Rules, which allow users to employ configurable logic to make decisions based on label data elements, this new capability provides the ultimate control of the on-demand print process.

“Loftware Spectrum offers all the capabilities we need to meet our regulatory and supply chain labeling requirements,” said Pradeep Daryani, IS Portfolio Manager & Business Partner Information Services for Sigma-Aldrich. “The ability to scale and support the printing of millions of labels a day and important new capabilities like Application Architect are just two of the many reasons that we are standardizing our labeling on Loftware Spectrum,” he added.

Loftware Spectrum includes a wide range of functionality including Object Navigator, which allows users to easily browse, search, move, create and simultaneously interact with single or multiple objects including labels, images, printers, and Business Rules. The Object Navigator significantly enhances usability and adds flexibility to simply and easily navigate within Spectrum, enabling users to view content in a highly scalable, usable, consistent fashion.
