Make 2015 The Year Mobile Productivity And Security Go Hand-in-Hand

There’s no denying the fact that we’re a society on the go — at work and at play. According to IDC, by the end of 2015, there will be 1.3 billion mobile workers. To put that number in perspective, Facebook just hit the 1.3 billion mark for active monthly users in Q3 2014.
Let’s face it: being able to work from anywhere has its perks. We’ve gotten used to finalizing RFPs, sharing Board slides, and fine-tuning product specs while on the go, making it hard to remember a time when we weren’t all armed with a phone or other mobile device. The freedom and flexibility created by new remote work scenarios is a perk that employees have almost come to expect in these mobile times.
This constant connectivity has forever blurred the lines of personal mobile use and work-related mobile use, with individuals relying on their devices to support everything from Instagram to customer interactions. Unfortunately, these blurred lines have created serious security risks, with IT struggling to keep up with the onslaught of new devices entering the workplace. Tablet adoption alone has been record-breaking, with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byer’s 2014 Internet Trends report showing that tablet shipments increased 53 percent in 2013 — growing faster than PCs did in their heyday.
