Mobile Payments: Simplifying Security For ISVs

As mobile payments go mainstream, ISVs have a unique opportunity to capitalize—provided they can assure the security of the mobile payments infrastructure. Understanding the use cases for mobile payments before building the secure mechanics that drive them is the key to cashing in on mobile payments mayhem.

A Q1 2015 survey commissioned by IBM and conducted by the Ponemon Institute dropped the collective kimono on mobile security, revealing massive gaps in the security of the burgeoning mobile infrastructure. The survey found that nearly 40 percent of companies, including many in the Fortune 500, aren’t taking the right precautions to secure the mobile apps they build for customers. The survey placed the blame for mobile security ignorance squarely on the shoulders of application developers.
