Parascript Integrates With EDAC's Software

Parascript announces the new version of EDAC’s ReadSCRIPT Advanced Handwriting Recognition Module powered by Parascript

Parascript, the industry innovator in advanced data location, extraction and classification, announces EDAC Systems, Inc.’s release of the newest version of ReadSCRIPT, its Advanced Handwriting Recognition Module powered by Parascript. ReadSCRIPT includes a number of Parascript technologies that are now available for IBM’s Datacap document capture platform. This new edition of ReadSCRIPT features:

  • The New Handwriting Learning Module
  • Expanded Dictionaries for validation
  • Improved unstructured handwriting keyword spotting and phrase classification
  • Enhanced Check Processing Extraction Capabilities

“Expanding our collaborative partnership with EDAC has really helped introduce these powerful capabilities to IBM customers. EDAC has a deep-level of understanding of both customer needs and how to solve them with a combination of IBM and Parascript technologies along with their own software. The result is a well thought-out solution. We’re proud of our relationship with EDAC,” said Mark Gallagher, Vice President of Sales at Parascript. “ReadSCRIPT has already proven highly useful to customers, and with this release, EDAC adds functionality that significantly increases flexibility and high accuracy in advanced data location and extraction for the IBM Datacap platform.”

Version 6 also expands the number of—and the content in—its validation dictionaries. Keyword Spotting in Unstructured documents has also been enhanced, automatically locating words and short phrases anywhere in unstructured or semi-structured documents.

“ReadSCRIPT automates the recognition, classification, and index extraction from all paper and electronic files and records,” says Greg Blevins, EDAC’s Marketing and Account Manager. “With the addition of the Learning Module, ReadSCRIPT provides the capability to learn word patterns from previous documents from the same writer. By understanding how a person writes a specific word, ReadSCRIPT speeds up the indexing process, enhances the accuracy of the metadata, decreases the verification error rate, and speeds up time to images.”

This new release improved ReadSCRIPT’s two optional modules, Check Processing and Signature Verification. Check Processing recognizes and extracts standard check fields and provides Courtesy Amount Recognition and Legal Amount Recognition (CAR/LAR) reconciliation. The Signature Verification functions in two ways: first, it locates, classifies and/or verifies that a check of document is signed; and second, it verifies signature authenticity by comparing the signature against a reference signature database.
