It’s also able to protect against unknown threats including remote takeover, keylogging, SSL sniffing, zero-day malware, fund transfer fraud, and data exfiltration.

Benseron also announced the acquisition of RestaJet.com, an online ordering platform for the hospitality industry. This acquisition gives Benseron restaurants the ability to create a website for their stores and an online ordering menu in minutes. RestaJet also provides custom Android and iOS apps for restaurant owners, enabling them to speed up the ordering process and improve the customer experience.

Star Micronics Releases Two Mobile Receipt Printers

Star Micronics recently unveiled two new portable printers, the SM-S230i and the SM-L200. The SM-S230i is designed for a wide range of mobile printing applications with no configuration changes required when switching between various operating systems. With an additional connection option for USB 2.0, the SM-S230i can send fast transfer speeds of data and provide security via a USB cable.

The unit also has the ability to print receipts or data from a Web browser-based application running on a mobile device wirelessly by configuring Star’s WebPRNT Browser. Once configured, the user pairs their mobile device to the SM-S230i, opens the application on WebPRNT Browser, and prints from the application. Finally, the SM-S230i features a printing speed of 80 mm per second with battery life of 13 hours.

The SM-L200 supports Bluetooth low energy (BLE 4.0) technology for all iOS mobile devices such as the Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Indeed, the printer can connect to any iOS BLE-compatible device without having to pair to it. With no limitation on the number of devices connected, BLE is ideal for BYOD environments that do not require any certification or prior authorization from your iOS operating system. In addition to the BLE feature for iOS, the SM-L200 is Bluetooth (3.0/ 4.0) compatible with all operating systems (Windows, Android, and iOS).

MMF POS Unveils New Locking Payment Terminal Stands

With the EMV October, 2015 conversion deadline quickly approaching, MMF POS has released its new security locking payment terminal stands. These new stands are designed for use with EMV-ready terminals. With the new lineup of payment terminal stands from MMF POS, retailers can maximize the physical protection of EMV-ready terminals such as Equinox, Ingenico, Verifone and others. Features like the secured L-bracket, security cable slot, and a keyed-lock cover on the new design will allow the customer to select from dual or triple security layers to help prevent unauthorized tampering or terminal removal. The new, secured, and tamper-proof design will help merchants meet compliance of PCI DSS v3.0 — Requirement 9.9.

Datalogic Announces New Technology For Inspection, DPM

Datalogic recently announced the launch of its MX-U family of vision processors for applications in manufacturing and inspection. The new MX-U family of vision processors is packed with technology including the latest Intel multicore chipsets. USB 3.0 connectivity delivers ultrawide bandwidth to support camera image acquisition at high frame rates and resolutions. IMPACT, Datalogic’s graphical interface software with drag-and-drop functionality, eliminates the need for programming in vision system deployment.

The new MX-U family of vision processors is suited for a wide range of applications such as inspecting syringe needles, verifying cap positioning on bottles, performing OCR readings on food packages, aligning electronic components and subassemblies, and it is ideal for applications where multiple cameras, high-speed computation, or high-speed conveying is required.

Datalogic also recently launched a new imager for direct part marking (DPM) applications, the PowerScan PM9500/PD9500 DPM-Evo imager (with both cordless and corded models). DPM codes are produced using various methods including laser etching, peening, ink jet printing, and more. With varying methods of creating codes, code quality can become inconsistent therefore creating problems for some readers. Datalogic technology includes new Datalogic decoding libraries that address DPM code inconsistency, which gives the PowerScan devices increased performance on all types of DPM and label-printed bar codes. The new PowerScan PM9500/PD9500 DPM-Evo model also includes an LCD display and four-button keypad, which provide the operator with the ability to capture real-time information and interaction with the host.
