Datacap Releases Certified BluePay US EMV Solution
Datacap Systems has completed US EMV level 3 certification with BluePay and released an EMV-capable version of NETePay available for download. NETePay for BluePay’s host-based processing platform provides Datacap and BluePay POS partners with the ability to deliver US EMV functionality via an evolving list of PIN Pads through a simple out-of-scope interface.
Through physical POS, online, and mobile interfaces, as well as CRM and ERP software integrations, BluePay processes business-to-consumer and business-to-business payments while providing real-time settlement, reporting, and reconciliation, along with security features such as tokenization and point-to-point encryption.
The initial EMV-capable release of NETePay for BluePay is certified to utilize the Telium 2 line of PIN Pads from Ingenico that support EMV, mag-stripe, PIN, and NFC contactless transactions via a variety of devices. The range of hardware options supports signature capture, unattended, and mobile applications.
Janam Gives XG3 Users An Android Option
The AIDC industry’s love for Android continues as Janam Technologies recently announced that its XG3 rugged mobile computer is now available with the Android operating system. What makes this announcement particularly interesting is that the XG3, which previously ran on the Windows Embedded Handheld OS, can now also run on Android. That is, it’s the same device that can run on either OS. With this announcement, enterprise XG3 customers now have the flexibility to standardize on the operating system of their choice. With support for both operating systems on the same device, the XG3 can reduce or eliminate the stress and cost associated with forced application migration and expensive hardware upgrades. Customers can choose the operating system that meets their needs today while extending their investment into the future.
The XG3 is a gun-shaped, rugged mobile computer with a standard 5200mAh hot-swappable Li-ion battery to ensure uninterrupted operation throughout the workday. An optional near/far imager enables the XG3 to read virtually any kind of 1D and 2D bar code, from 6 inches to more than 50 feet away. Additionally, the unit can survive multiple 6-foot drops onto concrete across a wide temperature range, and it is sealed to IP65 standards.
Toshiba Introduces Portable Bar Code Printers
Toshiba America Business Solutions has expanded its portable thermal bar code printer line with the introduction of its B-FP3 series featuring three-inch receipt and receipt/label models. To address a wide range of applications and conditions in transportation and logistics, retail, manufacturing, and field service operations, Toshiba ensured that the printers can operate in extreme temperatures, print up to 6 inches per second, and gave them IP54 dust protection and splash-proof ratings with proven drop-resistant durability.
A color LCD display enables visibility of battery levels, printer, and connection status. Toshiba’s printers implement built-in Wi-Fi and USB or Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and are capable of pairing with NFC-embedded devices such as smartphones, handhelds, and mobile computers. The B-FP3 series is compatible with ESC/POS, Zebra ZPL, CPCL, and Toshiba TPCL languages to integrate into a variety of retail and warehouse systems. The printers also support iOS, Android, and Windows CE devices via a software development kit. To reduce the number of media changes needed, Toshiba designed the printers to hold up to 560 labels or 183 feet of receipts. In addition, an adjustable media guide provides users with the flexibility to print receipts and labels ranging from .94- to 3.125-inches wide.
Datalogic Introduces New Laser Scanner Series
Datalogic recently unveiled its new PowerScan 9300 laser scanner series, which is available in three models. The PM9300 is the basic cordless model, the PM9300-D intermediate model includes a display and 4-key keypad, and the PM9300-DK model features a display with a full 16-key keyboard. The PM9300-DK model significantly increases the sophistication of interaction with the host system and opens up new potential uses of the scanner, making it suitable for applications that would normally require a more expensive portable data terminal.
Connectivity options include corded, standard Bluetooth, and a cordless option that uses Datalogic’s STAR Cordless System that offers scalable communication from point-to-point applications to networked devices without interference. All models have built-in, multi-interface options including RS-232, Keyboard Wedge, and USB.
Major features of the PowerScan 9300 series include scanning at “standard range” (contact up to 3.3 feet) and “auto range” (8 inches up to 41 feet); drop resistance at 6.5 feet, Datalogic 3GL and loud beeper for “good read” feedback; a water and particulate sealing rating of IP65 (IP64 with display); and the ability to operate over a wide range of temperatures (-4°F to 158°F).
Axis Announces Availability Of New Canon Network Cameras
As part of the recently announced marketing and sales framework initiative between Axis Communications and Canon, Axis introduced seven new models in the Canon network camera product line to its customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and North America. The majority of the new models are designed for outdoor surveillance, and they all offer HDTV 1080p resolution in full frame rate.
The new models include:
VB-H761LVE — outdoor, vandal-resistant fixed camera with 20x zoom and built-in infrared illumination. Designed for critical infrastructure and commercial buildings when it is necessary to zoom in on objects and incidents from a distance.
VB-H760VE — outdoor, vandal-resistant fixed camera with a 20x zoom lens. Designed for educational and critical infrastructure facilities.
VB-H751LE — outdoor fixed camera offering 2.4x zoom and built-in infrared illumination. Intended for monitoring of commercial buildings, warehouses, and critical infrastructure, even in complete darkness.
VB-H651VE — outdoor, vandal-resistant fixed dome camera providing Pan-Tilt-Rotate-Zoom (PTRZ) functionality and ultra-wide lens. Intended for outdoor monitoring of retail, commercial, and banking facilities.
VB-S30VE — outdoor, vandal-resistant compact mini PTZ dome camera with built-in microphone and PTZ functionality including 3.5x zoom. Designed for discreet monitoring of areas such as retail educational facilities, warehouses, and places where it is necessary to change viewing angles and zoom in on activity.
VB-S800VE — outdoor, vandal-resistant compact fixed dome camera with built-in microphone. Intended for discreet surveillance within retail, banking, and educational facilities.

Milestone Releases New Device Pack
Milestone Systems recently released Device Pack 8.9 for partners and customers using Milestone XProtect video solutions. This pack provides verifications of compatibility and support for more than 150 new security devices and features being published today. The pack includes three major highlights:
Network cameras are increasingly gathering and analyzing audio data as well as video. Milestone now ensures audio data streams can be securely (i.e., encrypted) delivered to XProtect and synchronized with video evidence. Sound analytics is increasingly being deployed to add intelligence at the edge. So, for example, some cameras record audio and analyze voices in view for aggression. Raised or angry voices can be picked up by the camera’s built-in microphone and alerts sent to operators.
Digital Barriers EdgeVis provides real-time video streaming even over low bandwidth wireless networks. It is designed for delivering video from moving vehicles such as buses, trains, and ambulances, or from high-value, but difficult-to-protect, assets such as oil pipelines and power substations. It works by dynamically adjusting image resolution in line with bandwidth availability.
Finally, Milestone has added support for Axis XP40-Q7165 cameras, which are commonly deployed in onshore and offshore oil and gas platforms, as well as in marine and heavy industrial environments. Its SAE 316L stainless steel housing is certified for hazardous areas. The XP40-Q7165’s housing prevents any sparks or explosions inside the housing from escaping and igniting gases in the surrounding air. This fits with Milestone’s focus of deepening support for devices designed to help secure critical infrastructure facilities.
