Describe the most innovative installation/solution you’ve been involved in recently.

GigaTrak recently completed an advanced Pit & Station Maintenance System for a leading gas utility.  This system tracks all maintenance and performs Over Pressure Capacity calculations to ensure system safety and compliance.  The project took nearly two years to design, develop, test, and implement.

What is the biggest threat to your business? What are you doing about it?

Too much work!  We are managing our project work loads better and have added staffing where necessary.

What is the biggest opportunity for your business? What are you doing to take advantage of it?

Growing into new areas including Document Tracking, Guard Tour, and Baggage Checking. New products have been designed and are now available.

What emerging technology will have the biggest impact on your business and why?

RFID was a struggle in early years to convince customers of the advantage.  More questions now arise and opportunity will grow in the future.  We recently integrated RFID into our Asset Tracking System for a world-wide customer.

What technology do you wish you had embraced sooner and why?

SaaS software models are emerging. Our customers most often still prefer a client based solution to keep costs low and secure their own data. SaaS has grown quickly and we need to lead with this option.

Where do you see the channel in 10 years?

RFID will dominate. Android mobile devices will surpass Microsoft mobile devices.

What about your company culture attracts new employees and helps retrain current ones?

We welcome independent thinkers with a zest to learn new programming techniques and methods.

If you weren’t a VAR/MSP/ISV what would you be doing?

Teaching people to run a Nuclear Power Plant - or just retire!
