Why Your Prospect's Labeling System Is Probably Inefficient

By Brian Sutter, Director of Marketing, Wasp Barcode Technologies

Many businesses unknowingly waste both time and money using outside printing sources to handle their bar coding and labeling services. Using other companies to produce labels can be expensive, restricting, and surprisingly inefficient.

However, you can explain to prospects that making the switch to a custom bar code system can have several benefits, such as:

  1. Lower cost. Outsourcing labeling services can be expensive, especially if the business requires specific types of labels. Over time, these costs can become a significant burden.
  2. Customization. Creating labels removes the hassle of having to fit the business’ needs to the services and abilities of a separate service, expanding both capacity and flexibility when creating specialized labels.
  3. Ability To Use Existing Equipment. On-site labeling can be combined with present printing equipment to reduce costs of labeling even further.
  4. Capability To Control. Being involved in all stages of the labeling process creates customization as well as the capability to oversee the entire process. Printing on-site reduces delivery times, making a more expedient system.
  5. Easy Operation. Choosing the right in-house labeling system can provide the business with a system that’s easy-to-use, taking as little as 10 minutes after installation to start designing their own labels.
