Avast Software has released Avast for Business, cloud-managed security geared toward SMBs — that’s completely free of charge.

Luke Walling, GM and VP of SMB at Avast Software, says businesses can get the first-of-its-kind offering directly, but “businesses prefer to work with a services provider.” Later in the year, Avast will introduce programs for MSPs (managed services providers) and other IT solutions providers, and is bringing together a partner advisory council to discuss how the company can best serve the channel.

The announcement of Avast for Business announcement explains the company has a network of more than 230 million users “whose devices function as de facto sensors, providing Avast with information about suspicious files to help detect and neutralize new threats as soon as they appear. Once Avast identifies a suspicious file on a single device and reports it back to its servers, all Avast users around the world are immediately protected.”
