RetailNOW 2015, the Retail Solution Providers Association (RSPA) trade show event for the retail technology and point of sale industry, announced three events hosted by the association’s Canadian, W2W, and Entrepreneur Communities. The events will be held Monday, August 3.

The W2W (Women in Retail) Community event features guest lecturer, Jeanine Turner (pictured) of Georgetown University, in a session titled Choosing Presence: The Most Important Executive Decision We Make Without Ever Thinking About It.

The number of messages we have access to have grown exponentially in recent years, but the number of hours in the day have not. The presentation, based on Turner’s research, looks at our endless opportunities for communication in a connected world and the importance of choosing presence strategically. Turner will discuss the implications of the choices we make in four distinct areas of presence and their impact on listening.

The RSPA reminds RetailNOW attendees that the W2W Community event is open to everyone, not just women.

The RSPA’s new Entrepreneur Community, focused on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit that is so prevalent in the IT industry will host Michael Gerber at its luncheon. Gerber, author of The E-Myth Revisited and five other E-Myth books on the topic of small business and entrepreneurship, will speak during the general session on Monday, August 3. At the luncheon later that day, entrepreneur attendees will have the opportunities to participate actionable discussions of finding and expressing passion in business ventures; practical steps entrepreneurs can take to re-ignite innovative energy; and opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs.

The Canadian Community also will gather August 3 for an informative networking luncheon. Open to all RetailNOW attendees with business interests in Canada, this event will feature Canadian legal information in an interactive Q&A with RSPA Attorney, Bob Goldberg; comments from community co-chairs, Jacques LaPierre, Maureen Chomica, and Paul Leduc about the future directions for RSPA Canada; and information on companies doing business in Canada. This event will allow participants to connect with other individuals with an interest in empowerment of Canadian retail technology businesses in a relaxed networking environment.

RetailNOW 2015 will be held August 2-5, 2015, at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, FL. For more information on the RSPA, go to www.BSMinfo.com/solution/InsideRSPA.
