SYNNEX' Murai Explains IBM BPO Acquisition During Day 1 Of National Conference

Today at the SYNNEX 2013 National Conference, Kevin Murai, president and CEO of SYNNEX, announced the details of his company’s pending acquisition of IBM’s worldwide customer relationship management (CRM), business process outsourcing (BPO) business.
From the Greenville, SC, conference stage, Murai said, pre-acquisition, SYNNEX has more than 10,000 people working in its $200 million BPO business. With the acquisition, the services workforce will expand to 45,000 and revenues are expected to top $1.4 billion. “This acquisition will launch us immediately right into the middle of the top ten global players in this space.”
Murai said, from a vendor perspective, the acquisition will mean SYNNEX has increase capacity to assist them with services including sales, customer care, and technical support. From a reseller perspective, the acquisition will mean SYNNEX can provide additional platforms —such as solutions relating to social media and analytics — and the ability develop new platforms.
He added that SYNNEX would continue to invest in the other focus of its business, IT supply chain services.
