6 Ways To Develop Solid Customer Relationships

By Rob Hile, Director of Enterprise Command Centers, SureView Systems

We live in a world where two-day shipping isn’t fast enough and everyone wants what they want, and they want it now. This is why it is important to build on customer relationships by providing exceptional service through a number of best practices, actions, and strategies. The customers of today are incredibly knowledgeable and they understand their business from top to bottom and they expect the same from the people they do business with. Here are six specific suggestions that will make you a better sales and business development professional.

  1. Be Present. All too often we’re greeted by a salesperson upon arrival and then that salesperson disappears never to be found again. Just as you’ve found exactly what you’re looking for and ready for checkout, or otherwise looking for assistance, the salesperson that was once there is now gone. As a services provider it is imperative that you remain close to the customer. By truly listening to the customer and offering a helping hand when it is needed, a lot can be learned. The same holds true for any kind of service, whether it be retail or technology solutions, it is important that the person responsible for managing relationships is accessible, in the right place at the right time, and has a keen ear to pick up on what the customer may not even realize they need.
